Would you really judge someone simply because of their sexuality?

Last night, my father and I got into a shouting match when he "accused" me of being gay (which I am, but I haven't told my parents just yet). He began to lecture me about how the world frowns down upon gays and how my sexuality would result in people judging me in a negative fashion.

And he wouldn't let me get my lip pierced because he claims that only gays get their lips pierced, and that by doing so, the world would frown upon me. Not that I buy any of that bullshit.

I called Sean and we talked about this, and he says his parents are okay with him being gay... unfortunately, I haven't been that lucky. My mom is neutral in this whole subject.

Seriously, tell me: is it such a crime to be gay?
